I know about staying focused on the vision, the importance of perseverance, and how to break through barriers from personal experience. I was a Minority Scholar when I earned my BBA and became a first-generation college graduate. Later on, I received a MTS from Emory University. In the corporate world, I captured the attention of senior executives by advancing more quickly than any other junior executive as I moved up the ranks in my retail management and buying career. As a trailblazer and entrepreneur, I broke color barriers as the owner of the first multi-ethnic salon in the local area.
With over 4,000 hours of philanthropic work and community service, I received the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Volunteer Service Award from the Office of President Barack Obama.
