My Story
My path to become a speaker and corporate trainer began during my formative years. When I was in elementary school, I couldn’t wait to play “school”. After school I would run to my friend’s house as soon as I could. I remember my friend and I would argue about who was going to be the teacher when we played “school”. Of course, every time I wanted to be the teacher. I believe things you liked doing during your formative years have a correlation to your gifts and passions. Well, I was a great teacher then, and I still am.
Fast forward, as I began to recognize my gifts and passion, I realized it felt natural and not uncomfortable when I stood in front of an audience. It was never about being up front but always about how I could stimulate growth and change and spur others on toward their richness. Seeing someone light up when I speak or witnessing them have an “aha” moment keeps me going and I feel alive! Why? Because I am making a positive, impactful difference.
I am fully committed to inspiring, teaching, and empowering others through times when life, business, or relationships seem to stand still. Bio
Lavinia Marshall is an entrepreneur, empowerment speaker, mentor and certified professional corporate trainer who loves people.
Whether on stage or facilitating a workshop, Lavinia has helped and inspired thousands of people grow forward in their careers, businesses, and relationships. Lavinia has spoken at universities, churches, non-profits and many conferences. She has spoken to international audiences, been a guest on international podcasts, as well as Atlanta area TV and radio shows. She is a member of the Women Speakers Association, National Speakers Association Georgia and The Association for Talent and Development.
Audiences relate to her engaging, energetic presence as she shares valuable insights and wisdom to motivate, teach, and empower them when life, business, or relationships seem to stand still. She is known for her intuition to help the discontent gain new perspective. Her message resonates with those who feel stuck, executives struggling with transition, and leaders who want to build high functioning teams. Lavinia teaches them actionable steps to turn their vision into reality.
She knows about staying focused on the vision, the importance of perseverance, and how to break through barriers from personal experience. Lavinia was a Minority Scholar when she earned her BBA and became a first-generation college graduate. Later on, she received a MTS from Emory University. In the corporate world, she captured the attention of senior executives by advancing more quickly than any other junior executive as she moved up the ranks in her retail management and buying career. As a trailblazer and entrepreneur, she broke color barriers as the owner of the first multi-ethnic salon in the local area.
As a sought-after corporate trainer, she has traveled the United States training learners with companies such as Sprint, Earthlink, Fairway Outdoors, ServiceMaster, PMG Research, and various physicians and real estate offices to name a few.
With over 4,000 hours of philanthropic work and community service, Lavinia received the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from the Office of President Barack Obama.
Lavinia lives in the Metro Atlanta area with her husband David Marshall, a former NFL player, and her children. She is the founder of Totally You and Totally You 2 Next Gen, where she serves the next generation of female leaders.

Lavinia has been married for thirty years to her husband, David Marshall, a former NFL player. And, they have two beautiful daughters.
She received the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Volunteer Service Award from the Office of President Barack Obama for volunteering over 4,000 hours of philanthropic work and community service.
Lavinia loves to explore new places, travel, dance, learn new things, and meet new people.
